My picks Emmys 2010

The 2010 Emmys took place last night in Los Angeles, CA. Now, there were some people who really stood out and some well not so much. As I was watching and then looking through the recap this morning It was hard not to feel a little disappointed. Usually the Emmys is a little bit more stand out and fun. When I was looking I felt like a lot of people kept is extremely safe. I saw a LOT of black, some white and a few spots of color but not much.

Here are my picks of the night.

Kim Kardashion in a beautiful white Marchesa Gown @ Emmys 2010

Kyra Sedgwick in a rose colored Monique Lhuillier gown @ Emmys 2010

Emmy Winner Claire Danes in Armani @ Emmys 2010

The one that did a little something different. Lea Michele in Oscar De La Renta @ Emmys 2010

Ms. Kelly Osbourne has really turned into her own becoming a real fashionista. She looks beautiful in this
Tony Ward black knot dress @ Emmys 2010

From the night Kelly Osbourne was my pick of BEST DRESSED even though she did black the details of the dress kept it funky and elegant. The hair and make up made it, hats off Ms. Osbourne.

Love to all, xoxo

Turtle Necklace
www.forever21.com

Ask ANY of my friends or family and they will tell you. I have an OBSESSION with anything animal,... well jewelry! I own lots of feathers, elephants and owls are my weakness. ANYTHING with a single owl on it is love at first sight. That is how this whole little OBSESSION became what it is today. It has now ventured out to more then just owls... now its everything. Fish, elephants, butterflies, snakes, turtles,.. you name it i will wear it.

I wanted to share these pics with you because out of the 100's of necklaces, bracelets and rings I found on forever 21's website these were some of my favorites. Now, I am really big on accessories... que the shoe line B. Original Shoes. I believe that the necklaces, bracelets, rings, and shoes make the outfit. But that is just because I am a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl so those are the things that make my outfit stand out and make it different.
I believe if you want to make an outfit amazing get some killer shoes and an awesome piece of jewelry ( preferably animal) and your set.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you the BEST thing about all these amazing treasures. None of them are over $5.80 :) Happy shopping everyone!

Oh yeah, I would love to hear what your FAVORITE piece of jewelry is... please?
Love to you all, xoxo

Ways to help.

So my idea was every TUESDAY I was going to post a new blog on ways to help. I pick something I think everyone should be aware of and leave it up to you to see if its something that you would be interested in helping out with. Well as most of you know today is WEDNESDAY. opps. I am still going to share the amazing campaign I discovered this week though.

Last week while I was in Venice I met a wonderful man named Christopher, he was volunteering his time to raise awareness about the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) http://www.hrc.org.

The Human Rights Campaign is America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.

HRC seeks to improve the lives of LGBT Americans by advocating for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring families are treated equally under the law and increasing public support among all Americans through innovative advocacy, education and outreach programs.

One of the things I learned from Christopher that I had did not know before meeting him was that in more then 1/2 the states in America employers can still fire lesbians, gay, bisexual, and transgender just for being those things. When I heard that I was sadden. That almost half the country still had this view. Now people can think what they want but this is my option EVERYONE DESERVES TO BE CREATED EQUAL. Its not fair.

I was able to do a small gift amount and I hope some of you will help as well just to help them to get the materials and finances they need to fight for their right to live normally in society. If you are interested in giving a one time donation or a monthly donation please visit there website to set it up.

If you can not give money, maybe try and give your time to volunteer and help. They have events all over the country that they could use volunteers for.

Love to all, xoxox

Fantastic Photos, Fantastic People

I LOVE photography, I love taking pictures, I especially love admiring the way other people take pictures. The reason why a photo is taken? what the mood was at that exact time? what everyone involved was thinking at that exact moment?

Everyone has a different way of looking at a photograph, that is why I think I love photography so much.

I have been admiring photos for a long time now and here are some of my favorites.... TODAY. :)

 Andy Warhol

 Audrey Hepburn

Twiggy

Johnny & June Carter

Elizabeth Taylor

Marilyn Monroe

Princess Diana

Elvis & Priscilla Presley

Jim Morrison & Pam Courson

Just thought I would share some of my favorites with you. I admire these people and find them extremely mysterious, exciting, and note worthy. Even though most of them are no longer around, you still can not help but wonder how their lives were behind the cameras. :)

Love to all, xoxo

Venice Beach, CA

Me and my friend Samantha decided to go down to Venice yesterday to get some sun, do some shopping and maybe sit on the beach and do some reading. Well we did some shopping and some walking and as we were walking even got a little sun. ;)

Next time your in Venice go here please. This guy ( Fred) was so amazing. He is the Owner/Designer of Gonzo Africa he designs and sells handmade jewelry ranging for $6-$20.  He designs amazing earrings, necklaces, bracelets and bags. Very, Very nice man. He is on Windward Ave. phone # 323-384-5900 Check out some of his work...

These are some of the items I bought yesterday....

This was something i just could not pass up. A day of the Dead bracelet with sugar skulls $3

This is one of the main reasons we went down to Venice in the first place. Samantha heard about this guy through a mutual friend who takes REAL LEAVES... YES REAL LEAVES and dips them in Silver, Gold, Bronze or Copper. The Gold ones were pretty amazing but I went with the copper... I thought it would go with more that I had. This guy is just chillin on Venice so you gotta look for him when your down there. 2 or $20 !!!!!

Sorry I do not have more but I was bad and forgot my camera so all I had was my phone. ;( Anywho such a great day, Venice is definitely an interesting place to be but always a goodtime.

Love to all, xoxo

Outfit of the Day

Basic Brown T- Shirt $4, with cream lace skirt $10, pearls $3, my big stone necklace $0, and thrift shop shoes that I got for $3.99

When I got shopping I look at it as collecting. I always buy my basics and then something funky that I may wear someday or for something. Its funnier that way, then you get to piece outfits together the more you collect.  I am a shoe addict so when I see shoes for 3.99 regardless. that is hard to pass up. These shoes are super comfortable and were such a steal.

For the longest time I was afraid of places like the Goodwill, and Thrift Shops around the area. DO NOT BE AFRAID,... they are awesome!!! I just got into thrift shopping a couple months ago and you will be amazed on what you can find and the prices you can find them. Grab a friend and go together... its better if you have someone to try on clothes with.

If you are in the LA area here are some good ones to check out:

Goodwill North Hollywood
5855 Lankershim Blvd. 818-763-1245

Goodwill in West Hollywood
1218 Vine St. Los Angeles, CA

Super Thrift Store
13422 S. Saticoy St.
North Hollywood, CA

Society of St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store
210 N. Ave 21 LA, CA 900031
* This place is amazing, everything from furntiture, clothing, shoes, books

My personal favorite!!!!!
*** Lighthouse world charities thrift store
1727 Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica

Happy Thrift Shopping xoxo,

Ways to help Tuesday

I am always interested in helping out the people in need. I always find myself looking up charities around the LA area or different ways I can help out. As I was flipping through my newest US weekly magazine I came across this amazing way to give back.

It is the Sea Turtle Bracelet, it is hand made by Kimberly Mcdonald  100% of the proceeds benefit the National Wildlife Federation's Oil Spill relief efforts. Sophia Bush has already been spotted wearing one of this amazing bracelets as well as Kara DioGuardi. These bracelets are a little on the high side retailing from $2,000-$2,500 but it all goes to a good cause to help these animals that are still suffering from the Oil Spill.

Please visit the site if you are interested in learning more information on where to purchase these bracelets.

Yep,.... first outfit of the day post.

Shirt:  Vintage from Aunty
Sunglasses: Target $12
Ring:  LA california market $3
Necklace: Vermont St. Swapmeet $5
Shoes: Steve Madden brown suede wedges $90

So my first post about my outfit how exciting! It was very hot where here in LA today so here is the outfit.  I am a thrift shopper, I love simple clothing with pops of color and accessories. I think accessories are what make the outfit complete.. Que the shoe line ;)

Hope you enjoy and love, xoxo

All so new

My name is Brittaney Murphy but my friends call me B. About a year ago I came up with an idea to start my own shoe line, originally I thought it was going to be a hard task. As I got more and more into the idea I learned when you want something bad enough it is only up to you to make it happen. So with the support of my amazing boyfriend, family and friends it all came together. My shoe line is B. Original Shoe Designs (check it out) and I am the Owner & Designer. I put so much love into every shoe I create, I only do one of a kind shoes,  at  affordable prices so everyone could have something special. ;)

I am from Northern California and about 4 years ago moved down to Los Angeles, and with all the ups and downs this town offers I am happy to say this is my home now. I wanted to create a blog to share with you my life and experience so that hopefully I can inspire and even help you live life without spending a lot of money. ;)

I am so new to all of this so I hope I don't ramble too much but I am excited to share my journey with you.

love to all, xoxo
